Happy Christmas.
In case you’re too busy for reading right now, here are some fab seasonal pictures to look at.
I hope you enjoy this selection of memorabilia from Christmases past.
Christmas cards from Liverpool venues and bands
This cool card is from the Reverb Brothers. Some time in the early 1980s, I think.
This slightly weird card came from The Icicle Works in 1986.
This one comes from legendary 1980s club Planet X.
I think this is my favourite. The Royal Court Theatre was a great venue, but notoriously cold.
A Probe Records Christmas party
As we’ve noted before, they don’t do things like other people at Probe Records. In 1988 they had their Christmas party in November.
Dave C and Simon on the Royal Court stage but I'm struggling with the third person. I am, after all, very old. Is it the lad who used to do the Box Office?
Thanks for posting this. The Icicle Works card is 'unsettlling' but also a great twist. 'The Small Price of a Bicycle' is a fantastic and frankly underrated album. Anyway, Happy Christmas Penny and thank you for the articles this past year and the opportunity to contribute. Hope you have a good one 👍
