Two themes run throughout my early rock journalism – Eric’s club, and Deaf School. Both had a huge influence on the Liverpool music scene of the time. And both are represented in this column from the March/April 1980 issue of Merseyside Late Extra.

In hindsight, I was a bit lukewarm about some records that didn’t deserve it. Some of them still sound grea…
