Very sad. Gained great experience playing in one of the bands on Probe i would never have got only for Geoff those were great times for bands in Liverpool.

Thank you for remembering Annie as well. You have to wonder how much of her is reflected in the success of the business.

As one of the Probe staff wrote on Facebook recently, the shop was Annie's business for the last 40+ years, and it's still trading. That says something.

I was very sorry to hear about Geoff and Annie. I was a dedicated Probe customer from the Clarence Street days and would buy all my few but precious LPs from them, mostly from searching through their second hand racks as I was still at school and only had money from a Saturday job in a supermarket. So I remember getting there specially one day - because I knew “Ram” was due out - with exactly enough money for the LP and the bus home. Only to find all LP prices had gone up that day (it was still the days of retail price maintenance). Seeing my disappointment and sparing me a long walk home Geoff very kindly sold me the record for the old price.
